Although I photograph a handful of weddings in the winter and spring, the summer is by far my busiest season for wedding photography. This December, though, I photographed Sean and Kristen’s wedding on Cape Cod and it was so lovely and wintry that I just had to share some of their wedding photos!
They held their wedding at Wequasset Resort on Cape Cod – theirs was the very last wedding of the season before the resort closed until April! The morning of their wedding it snowed lightly, just a little dusting that made for fun, flurried photos while they each got ready.
The wedding ceremony was at a lovely church nearby. Kristen’s mom walked her down the aisle and Sean beamed watching the two of them process.
After the ceremony, the wedding party and I boarded a trolley that took us to the center of Chatham where there were Christmas decorations everywhere. We did sweet photos amidst the twinkling lights and the snow. It was so cold – but so worth it! Kristen’s toes were numb by the time we got back on the trolley to head to the reception.
Wequasset was decorated for the Christmas holiday with trees and lights all over. Add to that a fire in the fireplace and winter floral arrangements, and you get a warm and lovely reception. Once everyone was seated, Kristen and Sean entered the room grinning and kicked off the night with their first dance and a series of wonderful toasts.
Dinner, dancing, cake, and drinks followed, but we found time to sneak out and take some more photos in the chilly night. It was a picture-perfect winter wedding!
