Conference Photography | She Did It Boston

Last week, I photographed an event called “She Did It/Boston” hosted by Betterafter50.com.  Better After 50 is a website dedicated to helping women over the age of 50 navigate the second half of their lives.  Empty nest, grown children, new careers, marriages ending or beginning…these women covered it all at this busy one day conference held at Babson College.

I was flattered to be asked to photograph this conference and loved hearing all of the great content.  In a handful of different workshops, the conference attendees tackled topics like how to write a killer resume and how to dress for success.  Of course, when producing conference photography, I am not focused on the content; I focus on making photographs that tell the story of the event and communicate the company’s brand.  For She Did It/Boston, the story is about women connecting with each other and gaining inspiration from their conversations.  Their brand is about being, “old enough — and wise enough — to approach the challenges and promises of mid-life with positive energy.”  So I made photos in which the women who attended She Did It/Boston looked engaged, happy, positive, energetic, honest, interested, inspired, supported, and refreshed.  I wanted to make event photographs that tell a story about how different women came together at this conference, not knowing what to expect, and left with new friends and new ideas for facing the challenges of their stage in life.

Check out a handful of photos from this Boston conference and you can learn more about Better After 50 on their Facebook page.
