I love to photograph newborn babies, but I always caution parents that I don’t do the baby-in-a-flowerpot-with-a-flower-hat kind of pictures. I don’t bring props and curl your baby into unrealistic positions. Instead, I hang out with you for an hour or two and document the three (or four or five) of you together as you enjoy and get to know the newest member of your family. The early days with a newborn baby at home are so precious, so fleeting, and so utterly exhausting that if you don’t photograph them, they become distant memories by the time your kiddo is out of diapers. The best time for newborn photos is within the first two weeks at home, when the baby is still sleepy and snuggly.
