I loved photographing Adam and Cathy’s wedding last weekend at Clay Hill Farm in York, ME. It’s a beautiful venue with an expansive lawn and walking trails perfect for late afternoon wedding photos.
This couple, like many of the couples I work with, chose to do their formal family photos FIRST, before the ceremony, so that they would be able to enjoy their cocktail hour later on. I love doing formal photos first thing – it’s usually a stressful time for the couple and their families, so it’s nice to have them out of the way. Also, everyone looks more fresh before the tears and sweat of a summer ceremony!
Adam and Cathy’s ceremony was in front of a gazebo outside and, even though it was in the blazing afternoon sun, it was sweet and romantic. Lots of music and tears and lots of laughter! The groom’s dad played an original song he had written for the couple and the groom’s sister read a poem in Spanish that was breathtaking.
After cocktailing and eating a delicious dinner, the band, The New York Funk Exchange, really got the crowd moving. It was so fun to watch everyone get their groove on!
Congratulations, Adam and Cathy!

Hey awesome shots — how was the New York Funk Exchange? I am thinking of having them play my wedding. Saw them once and they are amazing!

New York Funk Exchange are awesome entertainment for a wedding! I don’t think they do many weddings, so you might have to really convince them…but if you can get them, they are worth it. So much fun – they really keep the dance floor going all night long. I definitely recommend them.
