Earlier this week, I met up with Samantha and Jay for their engagement session. I always encourage couples to think of a spot for their engagement photos that is unique to them or that means something to their relationship. I really believe this helps make the photos – and the experience – that much more romantic and special. Sam and Jay are very connected to each other by their love of European football (soccer, to us laypeople), but even more than that, they share a love of art. The Museum of Fine Arts here in Boston is a place near and dear to both of their hearts, so we arranged to do their engagement photos in the Museum.
Photographing in the Museum is not an easy thing to arrange. But all the paperwork, the run around, the requirements, and the fees were totally worthwhile to have Sam and Jay alone in the Museum for a whole hour to look at their favorite works of art and enjoy their time together. (Well, of course they weren’t alone – I was there obviously, but we were also chaperoned by a Museum staff person to ensure that we didn’t damage anything. Still they did a great job of being romantic and unselfconscious.)
This is a small handful of the adorable engagement photos we got that morning. Even though we were severely limited in the places that we could photograph, we did get some wonderful shots that I know the two of them will treasure.
