On the weekend of November 3-4, I participated in my first Roslindale Open Studios, an event where 100+ artists show their work at over 40 locations throughout our tiny neighborhood in the southwest corner of Boston. Rather than selling artwork, which is what most artists do during Open Studios, I chose to showcase my portrait and wedding photography by setting up a photo booth in my living room and inviting all of my guests to have their portrait taken. By my count it was a big hit – I had close to 100 people into my home over the course of the weekend and about one-third of them had their picture taken.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in Roslindale Open Studios! Thank you to everyone who came to my home to see my portrait and wedding photography, everyone who allowed me to take their photo, everyone who helped organize the event, all of the people who put out yard signs and hung balloons all over Roslindale, and everyone who took the time out of their weekend to support local artists. It was such an honor to be involved and I am already looking forward to next year!
