This past weekend I photographed Laura and James’s wedding at the Danversport Yacht Club north of Boston. They had the most gorgeous day! Perfect temperature, clear blue sky and zero humidity. Remember that here in New England we get about a dozen of these days a year, so it was pretty remarkable! (Wedding photographers keep track of the weather…)
The Yacht Club is a beautiful venue for a wedding and I loved photographing there. They have two rooms for events – upstairs is the Grand Ballroom which is large enough for weddings with 200+ guests, has an incredible cathedral ceiling, and looks out over the water. Downstairs in the Garden Terrace Room, where we were, it is smaller and more intimate, the walls are draped with sheer curtains, the lighting is soft and romantic, and you can walk right out into the beautifully maintained garden.
Laura and James got married under a pergola covered with flowers and looking out towards the water. It was quite sunny, so we did their family photos in a number of different places, but everywhere we went was perfect! The staff of the Yacht Club did a great job managing the event, keeping everyone fed and happy, and the guests were still rocking the dance floor by the time I left at 11:00! It was my first time photographing a wedding at the Danversport Yacht Club and I loved it. I hope to go back!
