My wedding photography philosophy

I love weddings.  Everyone is so happy and looks so beautiful and is there to have fun.  Wedding days aren’t like any other days – they really do have magic.

I see my job as the wedding photographer – the documentarian of the day – to document all of that emotion.  My eye is always moving around the room looking for the photo-worthy moments like fleeting glances, laughter, and of course, romance.  My photos aren’t formal because the weddings I photograph aren’t formal.  They are loud, fun, and energetic.  My couples have known each other for a long time, even lived together or raised children.  They’re familiar with each other and each other’s families; there is no need for formalities.

As your wedding photographer, I collaborate with you to make the photos that best tell YOUR story.  I get to know you, help you feel comfortable, help you plan the flow of the day to maximize your photos, and give you my full and complete attention.  One of the ways that I get to know you well is through our Get to Know You Portrait Session.  This is like an engagement session except without all the pressure.  Really, it’s about spending time together so that when your wedding day rolls around, we’re like old friends.

Photographs from your wedding should be beautiful, real, natural looking, candid and should portray you looking comfortable and having fun.  I don’t direct your day; I document it.  I don’t orchestrate moments or tell you how to pose, I capture what I see happening in front of me.  My philosophy is for couples who want beautiful wedding photos that show them at their best, on their happiest day.

Here is just a sample of my work.  Please get in touch if you’re looking for a real and candid approach to your wedding photography!
