Chinese Wedding Banquet

This weekend, I had the honor of photographing Lisa and Dong’s Chinese Wedding Banquet here in Boston at the Emperor’s Garden Restaurant in Chinatown.  Their wedding ceremony actually had taken place the day before at a small venue in Portland, Maine.  But the Wedding Banquet was a huge affair with nearly 300 guests, a 10 course meal and dancing all night long.  As is customary at these banquets, the couple changed into 4 different outfits over the course of the night, each time re-entering the room to cheers and applause.  They also took the time to visit with almost every guest, making the rounds to all of the tables to enjoy a toast, hugs and plenty of group photos.  It seemed like a lot of work for them, but they were gracious and poised all night long.  Beautiful night and beautiful photos!
